There are people who divide their time between working in their cubicle and working from the home office. There are others that divide the time between the home office and a jazz-enhanced cafe with free wifi.
I first met Matt at a conference for speakers and we just struck up a conversation in the halls. He just looked like the kind of guy you want to say hello to and get to know. After the usual, “Enjoying the conference?” opener, I asked Matt what he spoke on. When he told me that he teaches leaders how lessons learned from climbing the world’s highest mountains fosters an adventure mindset that seeks challenge, innovation, and excellence for their company and team, I immediately wanted to know more.
“So, you climb mountains and then convey how it’s analogous to business?” I asked, not quite getting it yet. He said, “Yes, but I also take business leaders and executives to the top of mountains themselves to experience it first-hand.”
Needless to say, I quickly asked for his business card so we could stay in touch – and to find out more about his business.
This episode is where I get to finally ask him all of the burning questions I had wanted to ask!
If you can’t imagine how climbing a mountain can dramatically improve your business, your relationships and your leadership, you need to meet Matt Walker.
